The Eritrean Democratic Alliance (EDA) has appealed to neighboring countries surrounding Eritrea to understand the tragic reality which makes young Eritrean to flee their country in large numbers. EDA also called on these countries for good treatment towards Eritrean refugees.
The EDA has launched its appeal referring to campaigns which have taken place in Sudanese cities targeting Eritrean refugees who infiltrated across the border. EDA also called on the international community through its concerned organizations to shoulder its responsibilities towards the Eritrean refugees.
The Eritrean Democratic Alliance (seven factions), has affirmed, in the final statement second periodic meeting of the central command which took place from 13-18 November, the need to overcome the crisis that led to the division of the Alliance as soon as possible. The statement also expressed support for the resolution of the executive office to continue dialogue with the other wing of the Alliance and grant the executive office full authorities to complete the project of unification of the Eritrean opposition.
The meeting also called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards security and peace in the Horn of Africa so that to avoid the scourge of new wars, appealing for support to the struggle of the Eritrean people against the regime which has become a source of threat to the stability of the region.
